Quite interesting. I must admit I have books like Anna Karenina and more, they are masterpieces in that era and they are all book bound but the spine is completely off. NOW this craft you have here is just a good idea on how I can saved all these books and there are at least 10 of them.
Thanks. I am observing, hopefully I can absorb it all and become a great binder in the end.

I love the imagesthat you have from this album. The images are some what similar to my photo album from WW1. I do have in my album a photo of the two Proudfoot brothers that I have found on the Australian Expeditionary Forces web site. I have found there service numbers from the web site. The photos that I have of the two proudfoot brothers just have there last names and the dates at which time they were taken. Dated 1917 and on the same page is another image of one of the brothers and Tommy Byers who had put the photos together during the war. This other photo that I just mentioned is an image of the two of them standing inside one of the trenches and it is dated 1917 as well. There are other photos of only one of the Proudfoot brothers during the making of the album.

Hi Nick
Thanks for your comment. Given the difficulty of collecting ephemera, our focus is currently on election ephemera. We are also aware that ANU Library is collecting Pacific ephemera too and are trying not to double up with their activities. Vera

Fantastic project and great to see the diversity of international material being collected by the NLA. In terms of collecting ephemera relating to Pacific nations, is the NLA collecting in areas other than elections? I can imagine that for example visual and performing arts ephemera would also provide an important publishing record that may not find its way into a more substantial publication.

Hi Jennifer, great news that the NLA is looking at improving the functionality for online viewing of panoramas. I understand that this was a project some years ago, but was delayed by staff working on the online audio-delivery project.

The images that appear on the catalogue in parts will be replaced with the new scans at some point. The newer images can be zoomed to look more closely and the Library is looking at ways of improving this functionality.
