Typing tidbits – a royal typist!

I know that many zinesters have a fondness for typewriters, so this is the first of a series of posts where I’m going to indulge myself and share with you some quaint/curious/quirky/interesting articles from early editions of Australian newspapers recently digitised by the National Library and available via Trove.

This is a great little snippet from the Canberra Times of September 1929 that refers to the typewriting prowess of the Prince of Wales in 1929, who at that time was His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Cornwall, and later became (briefly, until he abdicated) King Edward VIII. I somehow can’t imagine the current incumbent doing the same!
